Story Image Therapy (SIT®) was originally developed in response to adolescent pain. While working in leadership roles as part of high school administrative teams, Dr Toula was exposed to numerous youth experiencing severe mental health distress. She was personally affected. To remediate her own hurt, as well as the pain in the young people around her, Dr Toula unconsciously sought alternative methods. These included ancient and modern STORIES & IMAGES for holistic health and healing. This spontaneous decision marked the beginning of what is known today as Story Image Therapy or SIT (as in to sit and read a symbolic story or sit and ponder a visual image).
